Cookie policy

Last updated 3 November 2026

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This page lists everything ptg.org.uk stores on your device, and why. For how we handle personal information more generally, see our privacy policy.

Your choice

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing except your choice is stored until you answer, and the site works the same whether you accept or reject. You can change your mind at any time.

What we use

ptg-consent Plug the Gap Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don’t ask on every page. Stored in your browser’s local storage, not sent to us. Strictly necessary. Until you clear your browser data
_ga Google Analytics Tells visits apart so we can count how many people use the site. Only set if you accept. 2 years
_ga_NLR6ZGSV64 Google Analytics Keeps track of your current visit, such as which pages you’ve viewed. Only set if you accept. 2 years

If you reject analytics cookies after accepting them, we delete the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

YouTube

The video on our homepage loads from YouTube only when you press play. It uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, but once it is playing YouTube may store information in your browser. Google’s cookie policy explains what it uses.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how.
