Norwich Youth Advisory Board is a group of young people working with professionals to create positive change in their local area. They do this by getting young people’s voices heard in decisions and creating solutions to issues identified by young people.
R is 17 lives with their three younger siblings and is currently studying graphics. They requested a device because the laptop they had at the time had to be shared with their other siblings and was extremely old. As a graphic designer and illustrator with ambitions of completing their course and continuing to higher education, they needed a laptop that can keep up with the demands of their courses. Their course needs them to be able to run design software, access remote learning and physically having the storage needed for their work. I hope that this device will now be able to see them through to starting university.
“Basically, I’ve been able to get a lot more work completed with it being able to handle the programs I need being a graphic student. Furthermore, my online classes are no longer crashing and running smoothly, meaning I’ve been able to participate more. I have also been able to play more with my friends, which has really boosted my mental health as cheesy as it sounds as I’m interacting with people more.”
